Simpliflex Corp. was founded in 2001 to transition the users of a salon POS program to a new generation of software. After the Supercuts corporate brand was bought out in 1996, the franchisees had waited several years for a new POS program and central office reporting tool promised by the new corporate owners.
My name is Jeff Breeden, and I was working with the previous franchise POS provider at that time. I was tasked with building the data transformations to merge with the new corporate-built POS program. When the corporate program proved unpopular with franchisees, I launched Simpliflex to take over development of the original franchise POS program from my employer, and began the process of updating the legacy database and code.
The task of completing the new version, which included a web-based report builder with simple data warehousing ability, involved another data transformation process. The central reporting system required summing and aggregating data from multiple retail locations to produce long range trend reports, providing a very simple form of Business Intelligence for the small business owners.
The copyrights and source code for the salon programs were sold to GuestVision Technologies in 2010. Integration of the original system data with the GuestVision POS and cosmetology school software provided yet another opportunity to design and implement a process of export, transform, and load.
Simpliflex Corp. currently specializes in data transformations, custom reporting, business analysis, and data warehouse solutions for small business. I perform most work myself, however I also have a network of technical contractors for larger projects.
